ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association)

The Arc

The largest community-based organisation advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Offers community programmes, housing support, and state chapters across the US.

Disability:IN

Business-focused disability inclusion organisation. Maintains the Disability Equality Index and a database of employers committed to neurodivergent hiring. Useful if you are looking for ND-friendly workplaces.

Job Accommodation Network (JAN)

A free consulting service from the US Dept of Labor. Helps employees and employers understand the ADA, identify reasonable accommodations, and find funding. Includes an A-Z accommodation database searchable by condition.

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)

Federal and state programme that funds job training, assistive technology, education, and support services for people with disabilities. If you need AT funded, VR is often the fastest route. Find your state programme here.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)

The largest grassroots mental health organisation in the US. Offers a free helpline (1-800-950-NAMI), peer support groups, free education programmes, and local chapter events. Crisis text line: text NAMI to 741741.

Mental Health America (MHA)

Offers free mental health screening tools, condition guides, policy advocacy, and state affiliate programmes. Their "B4Stage4" philosophy focuses on early intervention and prevention.
